Pump Dance

Ballet is a widespread and highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. Ballet has been influential globally and has defined the foundational techniques which are used in many other dance genres and cultures. Various schools around the world have incorporated their own cultures. As a result, ballet has evolved in distinct ways.

All different levels are offered at Pump Dance; Beginner classes can help anyone from the complete novice to someone who has been dancing for years to gain the fundamentals of ballet technique. In these classes, students will learn basic steps such as plié, tendu, and sauté while also building strength, coordination, and flexibility. More advanced students can take more complex steps, such as pirouettes and grand jetés while refining their technique with correct posture, placement, and port de bras.

The benefits of taking ballet classes go far beyond just learning the steps – they can also be beneficial to physical health. Ballet helps improve posture by strengthening core muscles, and increasing flexibility in muscles often overlooked during other types of exercise. Additionally, learning to control your body while performing more intricate movements like jumps helps improve balance and coordination.
